Sure to please mom and tot
I thought I would share something Will has liked since he was a baby. I think with most things they come and go but this has staying power. Will's all time favorite show is "Jacks Big Music Show". The show features bands and has a lot of music just like the title gives away. The band he really likes is "The Laurie Berkner Band". I have to say my husband and I really like them also. The music is really upbeat and I caution you, you will catch your self singing their songs. If you haven't seen them visit their site http://http://www.twotomatoes.com/site/index.php Yesterday "The Laurie Berkner" band was on the view and Will stoped dead in his tracks to watch them and then started dancing. Their DVD of music videos can be picked up at Target also. Hope you enjoy!

Hard to find names, not a problem!

When I was a kid it was always so hard to find things with my name on it, Kristen was always spelled with "in" and never "en". I remember being so disappointed that they didn't have my name spelled correctly I even asked my mom if we could change the spelling to Kristin! :)
Hard to find names are no longer a problem! As Moms we are so proud and want to show off the names that we worked so hard at selecting. Why not show your pride with the "Mommy Brag" necklace! This necklace is perfect for the Mom or Grandma that has the hard to find names (doesn't it just bug you when every name is available but the one you want!)
The "Mommy Brag" necklace includes two 16mm sterling silver charms and they will be personalized to your specification and can fit up to 8 letters on each disc. The necklace also includes two swarovski crystals the available colors are: clear crystal, pink, light blue, red, silver, light green, black, topaz, light purple, and silver. The charms hang on a sturdy sterling silver 16 inch snake chain. The necklace is $49 as pictured.
Artist Note: The letters on this necklace have been hand stamped one at a time, I do not use machines. The letters will not line up perfectly and this should not be considered a flaw but part of the charm.Thank you for visiting my shop. Please convo me if you have any questions or would like a custom piece designed.
Please either email me at klacustomcreations.comcast.net or you can purchase this necklace at http://klacustomcreations.etsy.com

Happy Friday!

It isn't often that Will sits still ,and there are very few pictures of us together since I am usually the one taking the pictures. I thought I would share a pic of the two of us. Happy Friday! I can't believe how fast this week went by!
Sometimes I feel that life is passing me by, not slowly either, but with ropes of steam and spark-spattered wheels and a hoarse roar of power or terror. It's passing, yet I'm the one who's doing all the moving. ~Martin Amis, Money

Happy Valentine's Day!

Did you know????
Valentine's Day is a holiday only celebrated in North America and Europe, it has been a traditional holiday for a very long time. It is a day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
Will is showing off his Valentine card he received from his best friend Grace. Yes it is Will and Grace!
Happy Valentine's Day! XO XO XO

Doing it himself...
I am not a very patient person but am working very hard at standing back and watching him learn to do things, it takes 5 times longer but the satisfaction on his face when he does something is worth the wait!

Spuds Buds...

Have you seen these guys? Will just loves his Spuds Buds, he was so proud that he wanted his picture taken with them. He even named them starting from the left: Daddy, Will in the center, and Mommy on the end. Mommy has her lips and eyes on top of her head, I could think of worse places that he could have put the eyes and lips. These little guys have provided Will with hours of enjoyment and you get all three in a little case. I picked these up at Target. Tuesday, February 5, 2008
I would never.....

Before I had Will I always thought I knew exactly the kind of parent I would be. I use to say "I would never let my kid, or I would never...." you can fill in the blank I said it all the time. My friends and family would say just wait until you have your own and you will see. I never understood why they would chuckle and say you'll see. Here are a few things I said I would never do:
I will never be a stay at home mom. (well I am a work at home mom and this is the hardest job on the planet)
I will never let my kid drink pop.
I will never let my kid scream in a restaurant. (sometimes you just can't control it,now when I hear a kid screaming I think those poor parents.)
I will never let my kid stay up late, kids should go to bed at a decent time.
I will never block traffic at the store with my stroller. When my friends and I would go shopping we were so annoyed by those moms with the strollers!!
I will never let my kid sit around in just a diaper. Sometimes just dressing an active toddler can feel like such an accomplishement.
I will never allow toys to be scattered all over the house (have you seen our house?) We have toys everywhere and I mean everywhere.
I could go on and on and I have to say I no longer judge any parents for why they do things or allow their kids to do things since each child is unique. You just don't know how you would handle a situation until you are in it yourself. What did you say you would never do????
The Never Say Never necklace is available at http://klacustomcreations.etsy.com/This is a hand stamped sterling silver 3/4 of an inch sterling silver square that has been hand stamped and antiqued to make the letters pop.

The Charity for February is......

I am pleased to announce that the charity that Kristen's Custom Creations will be featuring for the month of February is Apraxia-Kids.
Thank you to Kim Rieck for providing resources for Apraxia-KIDS. I have designed a necklace specifically for this organization and will have it available for viewing on my blog next week. As I have mentioned before my goal is to bring awareness and raise money every month for a different charity. Below is some information on Apraxia KIDS. Please also visit their site http://www.apraxia-kids.org/
Apraxia of speech, also known as verbal apraxia or dyspraxia, is a speech disorder in which a person has trouble saying what he or she wants to say correctly and consistently. It is not due to weakness or paralysis of the speech muscles (the muscles of the face, tongue, and lips). The severity of apraxia of speech can range from mild to severe.
p.s. Thank you to everyone for your suggestions this was a tough decision.
