Who Do you LOVE?

Love:
1. A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
Who do you LOVE? People always say that the love you have for your child is like no other. I have to agree that is so true!
The Love Forever necklace is a reminder of the love you have for that special someone.

Kristen's Custom Creations is now available online!

I am pleased to announce that Kristen's Customs Creations is now available online. http://klacustomcreations.etsy.com

My specialty is custom hand-stamped jewelry. I have loved jewelry since I was a child and really like having unique items that are custom made specifically for me . I originally started beading jewelry and now work mostly with metal.

When I had Will I wanted something really unique because I was so proud of him and I didn't want the standard engraved machine made piece of jewelry so the result is the necklace pictured at the left. What began as a hobby many years ago has turned into a business, most of my business started by word of mouth and as it grew I decided to open up my shop online. I hand create each item in my shop and love creating custom orders. Most of my pieces are sterling silver but honestly I stamp on anything I can get my hands on. I am constantly designing new items and much of my inspiration comes from my every day happenings with my toddler, family and friends. Please visit me often and leave me a comment so I know you were here.

The only one he will wear

Will has several hats but never wants to wear any of them but this one he even wears in the house. I had to take a pic of the one and only hat he will wear. (Thanks Kim he loves this hat) I remember when I was little I never wanted to wear hats or boots either and on the way to school I would take my boots off and put my shoes on (balancing trying to not get my feet wet while switching was a real challenge) My Mom would have killed me if she knew I did that every time. The older I get the more practical I get, now I wear UGGS which really are ugly but oh so comfortable and warm!

Can you see the resemblance?????

The other day Will and I were reading his book on noses and I asked him who was in the pic on the left and he said Kane. I have to say I can see the resemblance, but poor Kane I think he has such a pretty nose. Kane does act like an anteater he smells food from a mile away!

Do you see something that doesn't belong?

I went into the fridge to make dinner and didn't notice it at first and then Will said "Cow I found you!" It just blended in with all of his drinks he wants to keep it in the fridge for now. I swear I watch him closely but he is so fast with stashing things. Today I spent 25 minutes searching the house for his super balls I was convinced he stashed them once again and after looking everywhere I remembered I put them in my pocket for safe keeping, the poor kid walked around the house while I was searching saying "Balls where are you? Fun, Fun, Fun!!!

Key to my heart hand stamped necklace....

Here is a sneak peak of one of my Valentine's Day designs that will be available online soon. This can actually be worn year round but wouldn't it make a perfect Valentines gift. I call it "The Key to my Heart" check it out here http://klacustomcreations.etsy.com I don't know what it is about keys but I love incorporating them into my jewelry and this is an old fashioned scroll key made of sterling. The sterling heart charm is stamped with the word love and hangs from a 16 inch sterling silver snake chain. I think today I will get out all of my Valentine's day decorations! XO XO XO

I love hot chocolate!

I didn't realize how cold it was until I went grocery shopping yesterday it felt like 50 degrees below zero seriously it is so cold out! Even though it is cold out Saturday night we decided we wanted hot fudge sundaes and we didn't have the ingredients to make them so we went to the ice cream parlor let's just say we were the only ones in the parlor and I think the employees were shocked we actually wanted ice cream. Will had a blast he ended up wearing half of his sundae on his shirt! I think today it will be hot chocolate to stay warm!

Hot dog, hot dog, hot dog!

Who knew trying to get a toddler to eat would be so challenging? "Hey Will what do you want for breakfast?" "Hot dog please" that is all he ever wants to eat lately breakfast, lunch, and dinner that or Diego yogurt drinks I now understand why yogurt comes in cute little packages(it even comes in a tube) to help get your child to eat! And why does the juice taste better(according to Will) in the red cup? And just when I think I have figured out his favorite food I run to the grocery store and stock up then I get home and he decides he no longer likes hot dogs or Diego yogurt drinks they are now yucky! All in a day but it is oh so fun being a mom isn't it!!! He keeps me on my toes!

We hope to take Will there some day since it is one of our favorite vacation spots! Check out www.annamaria.com they have great vacation rentals!

Say it isn't true....

Doesn't he look so innocent? The other day I was singing while watching one of Will's shows and he put his hand out and said "Mama stop singing, please!" I know I am a bad singer I always have been but when your two year old tells you to stop singing you know you are bad, this also happened when I was in junior high my singing teacher asked me to not sing during the concert to just mouth the words! See it left me scarred I still can vividly remember that but heck if my precious tot thinks I am terrible then it is true!

I think you got it all!

It is strange but we never can get good pictures of Kane I didn't think a dog could photograph poorly but he does the other problem we have is that usually he is sleeping he doesn't get up for much but if he smells food look out! Since he is so tall he can reach most things off of our kitchen counter with out much effort (one time he ate half of a pot roast in a matter of seconds) I had to snap this picture he licked this pan for over 3o minutes it was left over meat loaf notice his foot to hold it in place and him smacking his lips! Well that must have been exhausting for him he then went up to bed early! Kane goes up to his dog bed before Will most nights, Kane is the only one in our house that sleeps through the night!

Caught red handed!

I left the room just briefly and came back to this I now know why I am missing a few of my letters off of the keypad. Will looks like he knows exactly what he is doing doesn't he? Isn't it funny how you can buy kids toys and books and they have the most fun with the things that aren't toys like an empty paper towel roll, empty boxes, a used dryer sheet you name it they can find something fun to do with just about anything. That is what is so great about being a kid everything is fun!

My Hand Stamped Sterling Jewelry!!!

This is the very first necklace I made. You can purchase one just like it at Kristen's Custom Creations. After having Will I wanted something really unique so I decided to make my own it took me a long time to get it exactly the way I wanted it but it is my favorite necklace. The necklace is hand stamped sterling silver that is oxidized to bring out the letters and it hangs on a snake chain. I started getting requests from friends and family so I decided to open up my own jewelry business.
Custom orders are always welcome and make great gifts for everyone, please visit my shop where you will find Mommy necklaces, something for Dad and items inspired by special messages, logo pieces and even some Twilight inpired items.

Best seat in the house!

Kane and Will are the best of pals as you can see from the pic. We rescued Kane from Regap which is a wonderful group that is made up of hundreds of volunteers that give the hounds a second chance, unfortunately once a greyhound no longer races (usually around 3 yrs. old) they are no longer of use to their owners so they are in desperate need of a home so groups like Regap find foster homes until they can be adopted into a new home. Greyhounds are one of the sweetest breeds of dogs and make wonderful pets. I could go on and on regarding why you should rescue a hound so I will save it for other posts since I am passionate about rescuing a hound but for more details visit Regap's site for http://www.rescuedgreyhounds.com/ . Kane is now 7yrs old and sleeps most of the day!

If Life was only this easy...

Don't you wish the toughest decision you had to make in a day was what flavor sucker to select and if you can't decide just try them all as Will likes to! Will likes to take just one lick and then put them in a bowl or stick them in my mouth can't say I like all the flavors either! Oh to be two years old and experience pure bliss over the littlest things!

This is all new for me!

This really is all new for me. I never knew what blogging was until I stumbled across a few blogs and really enjoyed reading them so a friend suggested that I start my own blog. I am glad it is a new year and we are finally getting back into a bit of a schedule, Will my two year old starts back up with his classes next week (mommy and me classes) which is always a lot of fun I am also in the process of launching my custom hand stamped jewelery business so things are very busy but oh what a sweet life, that is what "La Dolce Vita" means the sweet life in Italian. Well today my goal is to get my file box in order for 2008!
