Hello welcome to La Dolce Vita. I am a busy WAHM of a three year old who really keeps me on my toes. I blog about my Sweet Life (that is what Dolce Vita) means. I share many of my custom hand stamped jewelry pieces, as they are inspired by my every day life. I hope you enjoy fashion as I talk a lot about fashion and I am a total Product Junkie. Step into my world and please come back again soon. If I am not around I am off making some keepsake mommy jewelry for my customers.
Will had his first day of Preschool on Tuesday and I can hardly believe it. It seems like it took an eternity to have him and yet in a blink of an eye he isn't a baby anymore, how does this happen? On Tuesday parents were able to stay and today he is on his own, so wish US luck and I stress US. Will is a bit like me in that he is a little slow to make friends and cautious with new situations but once he is comfortable I know he will enjoy every single moment. I am not quite sure what I will do with myself while he is at preschool, but if you see a Mom lurking around his school chances are it is me.
P.S. Photo's are courtesy of my Dad and Brother since they came to my rescue, my camera battery was dead when I went to use the camera.
Summer isn't over yet, and especially since it was in the 80's in Michigan yesterday. Fall doesn't officially start until September 22nd so I want to squeeze out every last bit of summer I can. I love Fall but I DREAD the long Michigan winters, in fact I get quite depressed just thinking about winter. Will enjoyed every bit of this warm day and hasn't given up on summer quite yet either.
Hey Old Man Winter please go somewhere else this coming Winter.
Hello friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had beautiful weather in Michigan.. really quite perfect. We visited the Old Car Festival at The Henry Ford and made it to the park, it was hard to stay inside this weekend but in between I worked on orders and am just about caught up.. that is just about.

Please grab a cup of joe and get to know my friend Amy.
I have been married for three years now to my best friend. He is a kind and giving man who works hard to provide for his family. We have a little girl named Alyce who is almost two. We also share our house with our Siberian Husky Timmy. Oh yeah we have a beta named Murphy.
3. How did you start blogging?

4. If you are a parent do you have a parenting philosophy?
I feel that as a parent I am there to guide my daughter and to learn from her. It is amazing because I get a chance to see how she takes on life and the discoveries she has for the first time. I have been doing this parenting deal for about two years. I think I still have a lot to learn. I really enjoy parenting and think it will always be a learning experience for me.

All of a sudden Will has sparked a interested in arts and crafts. He creates anywhere from 3-6 paintings, drawings and sticker collages a day. I am so excited that he enjoys crafting that way we can do our "work" together. So here are my questions:
The 911 WTC Fallen Heroes Flag photographed by Ron Hans.
Please take a moment today to remember those that lost loved ones on 9.11.2001. As the years pass we can never forget, never forget! My thoughts and prayers go out to all who's lives have been ever changed by this tragic event.
Over the holiday weekend we took a trip to Flavor Fruit Farm. Will and my nephew loved the vintage truck they had on display and couldn't resist the little piggy. Flavor Fruit Farm wasn't in full swing yet but we did still enjoy some donuts! I love cider mill donuts! BTW if you like Will's T-shirt it is from Eli's Lids, and I had to beg Will to take it off, it is his favorite T-shirt.
Happy Thursday friends!
Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY for some new BLINGHERE!
When the Ugly Dolls are in the car seatbelts are required, even if they are sitting on top of each other. Gotta keep the kids safe, as Will says. Ice Bat is the new addition to his Ugly Doll family, he keeps saying that he needs more kids. I told him 3 is a lot of kids to take care of but he keeps wanting to expand his family. Will takes his Ugly Dolls just about everywhere but guess who usually ends up carrying them?
Happy Wednesday!

This past weekend we made a trip to IKEA, I know going on the weekend was really silly. We went for a bookshelf for Will and three hours later found one. We also had lunch there and they have a delicious Caesar Salad. Do people go to IKEA to buy stuff or just hang out and lounge in all the cool rooms? Visiting IKEA kinda made me want to do some redecorating. They really make it so you could stay there all day, and move right in. Will had a blast going from room to room, just about as much fun as he has at the park.
Over the weekend I pulled out the chair and a half to vacuum and Will quickly built a fort, his accommodations include plenty of pillows, a blanket, battery operated candles and of course some of his toys. It reminded me of the forts my brother and I use to build when we were kids, sometimes it is the simple things like pillow forts that bring sheer delight!
Just listed in the shop is the Hand stamped Initial Necklace With Secret or Hidden message. This necklace is for those that would like to convey a special message without announcing it to the world! Wouldn't this make a great gift for a Mom to give to her daughter as a back to school gift? The Hand stamped Initial Necklace With Secret Message is available in my shop Kristen's Custom Creations and can be customized with your own special word!
When I was cleaning I found a copy of this poem, my Mom had given me it a while ago and I thought I would share it. I hope you enjoy it, even if it isn't the first time you have read it.
Wet Oatmeal Kisses by Erma Bombeck
The baby is teething; the boys are fighting. My husband just called and said to eat without him, and I fell off my diet. Lay it on me again, will you.''
OK. One of these days you'll explode and shout to the kids, "Why don't you grow up and act your age?" ...and they will.
OR:
"You guys get outside and find yourselves something to do. And don't slam the door!" ...and they don't.
You'll straighten up the boys' bedroom neat and tidy -- bumper stickers discarded, bedspread tucked and smooth, toys displayed on the shelves. Hangers in the closet. Animals caged. And you'll say out loud, "Now I want it to stay this way.'' ...and it will.
You'll prepare a perfect dinner with a salad that hasn't been picked to death and a cake with no finger traces in the icing, and you'll say, "Now, there's a meal for company.'' ...and you'll eat it alone.
You'll say: "I want complete privacy on the phone. No dancing around. No demolition crews. Silence! Do your hear?'' ...and you'll have it.
No more plastic tablecloths stained with spaghtetti. No more bedspreads to protect the sofa from damp bottoms. No more gates to stumble over at the top of the basement steps. No more clothespins under the sofa. No more playpens to arrange a room around. No more anxious nights under a vaporizer tent No more sand on the sheets or Popeye movies in the bathrooms. No more iron-on-patches, wet, knotted shoestrings, tight boots, or rubber bands for ponytails. Imagine. A lipstick with a point on it. No baby sitter for New Year's Eve. Washing only once a week. Seeing a steak that isn't ground. Having your teeth cleaned without a baby on your lap. No PTA meetings. No car pools. No blaring radios. No one washing her hair at 11 o'clock at night. Having your own roll of Scotch tape. Think about it. No more Christmas presents out of toothpicks and library paste. No more sloppy oatmeal kisses. No more tooth fairy. No giggles in the dark. No knees to heal, no responsibility.
Only a voice crying, "Why don't you grow up?'' and the silence echoing, "I did."
