First Weekend at the lake

We had such a harsh winter in Michigan so the warm sun at the lake feels even better.  Will even did some kayaking this first weekend at the lake.  We are hoping for some nice weather this summer filled with lots of fun!  Wishing all of my friends a nice summer!

I'm gonna soak up the sun...

Will and his cousin Owen.

Summer is flying by at lightening speed. I know it is over for some but in Michigan kids do not go back to school until after Labor Day. We wait a very long time for nice weather and then it is typically too hot to do much so we complain about the heat. There is no pleasing us. So until summer is officially over we will try to soak up as much nice weather as we can.

On a different topic....

Such serious little boaters, I wish I knew what they were thinking about. I like to boat but I have no desire to actually drive (is that even right?) the boat. I make the perfect passenger though. The boys on the other hand think they are ready to captain the boat.

I better start loving this....

I am thinking if I don't want to spend my summer weekends alone I better start enjoying going to Mustang car shows, since the older Will gets the more he enjoys going to car shows. This weekend we went to a Mustang car show and after about 5 minutes I was really bored it must be how John feels when I drag him to the mall.

Bubble, Bubbles and more Bubbles...

It has been a long, cold winter in Michigan but today we broke out the bubbles and had oh so much fun. The birds were chirping, and it is very, very muddy.

I (heart) not having to wear a winter jacket, cracking open our windows just a wee bit and the abundance of sunshine. This may be a tease for now but I will take it!

Mudd=Spring right?

just not ready for it yet...

These pics are from a few weeks ago when we visited The Henry Ford, it was a very warm day and the gardens were still beautiful. We have gone from steamy hot weather to chilly late fall weather.... I am just not ready for the cold weather just yet.

It isn't over yet.....

Summer isn't over yet, and especially since it was in the 80's in Michigan yesterday. Fall doesn't officially start until September 22nd so I want to squeeze out every last bit of summer I can. I love Fall but I DREAD the long Michigan winters, in fact I get quite depressed just thinking about winter. Will enjoyed every bit of this warm day and hasn't given up on summer quite yet either.

Hey Old Man Winter please go somewhere else this coming Winter.

Feel Good Sunday: Look what's blooming...

My Weeping Cherry tree is starting to bloom, and it is beautiful! It is so brief but always so pretty! It is like a shower of flowers!

Thousand Words Thursday

We have had nothing but snow and very cold weather lately in Michigan! The first pic is just the beginning of the snow. The cold weather requires some cozy pj's w/ feet and the third pic shows the heat hog, Will and Kane fight over the heat vent. You can see Kane took over and even decided to lay on Will's "cozy" blanket.

Catching some rays...

Kane loves to sunbathe. Since greyhounds have very little body fat when it is really hot out they can't be in the sun for long or they get overheated. During the summer we have to make him come in to prevent overheating. Kane gets really irritated when we disturb his sunbathing.

Today is a perfect day for Kane it is in the mid 50's so he can bask as long as he would like and not worry about getting overheated. I want his life! With a toddler you get to sit for about 2 seconds before they are into something.
