Our Greyhound Kane just turned 11, he is a old man. He isn't normally allowed on the couch but we made an exception on his special day. Happy Birthday old man!

Let it shine...

We have had a bit of a heatwave this week in Michigan, 56 degrees in March is a pleasant surprise. We have also had an abundance of sunshine and I love how the sun shines in our front door, apparently I am not the only one, as you can see Will and Kane are soaking up the sun, pure sweetness if you ask me.

I took one for the team...

Believe it or not we haven't really had much snow this year, I know I just jinxed us and now we are going to get dumped on in Michigan, sorry Michiganders! But one thing we have had is really cold temperatures.Even though we don't have much snow it still needs to be shoveled. So, Will and I decided to do some shoveling, so hubby wouldn't have to do it in the dark. I really do not like the cold and often question why we all live in Michigan, but when you are 4 snow is something really fabulous. Will and I bundled up and took one for the team, well I took one for the team since Will loves the snow! Kane on the other hand didn't last very long, he wanted in after playing for about 5 minutes.
So tell me have you had much snow this winter?

The Road Not Taken....

Every now and again Kane and I go for a walk just the two of us and this is our path, it always reminds me of the poem The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. It is our path our time together where I think, about so many things and Kane well he just trots along and enjoys his walk... he is the best walking partner. The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Feel Good Sunday: A Boy And His Dog

A Boy And His Dog by Edgar Albert
A boy and his dog make a glorious pair:
No better friendship is found anywhere,
For they talk and they walk and they run and they play,
And they have their deep secrets for many a day;
And that boy has a comrade who thinks and who feels,
Who walks down the road with a dog at his heels.
He may go where he will and his dog will be there,
May revel in mud and his dog will not care;
Faithful he'll stay for the slightest command
And bark with delight at the touch of his hand;
Oh, he owns a treasure which nobody steals,
Who walks down the road with a dog at his heels.
No other can lure him away from his side;
He's proof against riches and station and pride;
Fine dress does not charm him, and flattery's breath
Is lost on the dog, for he's faithful to death;
He sees the great soul which the body conceals—
Oh, it's great to be young with a dog at your heels!

Thousand Words Thursday

We have had nothing but snow and very cold weather lately in Michigan! The first pic is just the beginning of the snow. The cold weather requires some cozy pj's w/ feet and the third pic shows the heat hog, Will and Kane fight over the heat vent. You can see Kane took over and even decided to lay on Will's "cozy" blanket.
