Tour of the Henry Ford Estate

Last week we took a tour of The Henry Ford Estate, former home of Henry and Clara Ford. Sadly the Henry Ford Estate will be closing at the end of the year for restoration and will not reopen for at least 2-3 years. The restaurant will not reopen and they will no longer hold wedding ceremonies. Almost 13 years ago we had our wedding ceremony at the Henry Ford Estate and it is truly a beautiful place to get married. So until it closes we will be visiting the grounds and restaurant as often as possible.

Happy Father's Day

One of Will's presents to Daddy was a stepping stone that they created together.

Will was so proud of his finished product. He couldn't wait to place it in "his" garden.

I had the cutest outfit picked out for Will, white polo shirt and madras shorts but he wouldn't leave the house until he picked out his outfit. This is what he picked! What do you think? He did agree to take the frog boots off at Starbucks and put on his sandals. Sorry Michigan fans I think he is picking State at a young age!

Will is the best at BBQ'ing as long as you don't mind eating plastic food!

Will and Daddy at the Motor Muster at the Henry Ford. There were so many cars! Dad was in heaven!

How did you celebrate Father's Day?

Lunch at the Estate

Every year my parents take me out for lunch for my Birthday and we typically go to the Henry Ford Estate. This year the gardens were just beautiful. The Lilacs were full in bloom and walking down the walk way smelled amazing. Will ran up and down and just loved the gardens. It is so nice to have Will join us for our yearly tradition!

Lunch at the Estate....

We had lunch at the Henry Ford Estate and it is one of my favorite spots for lunch. The Henry Ford Estate is the former residence of Henry and Clara Ford. The Henry Ford Estate is just beautiful and it is so nice that they are open for lunch. Lunch is served in the old pool room. The estate offers tours and has many special events. John and I got married at the Estate and it was just so pretty. Take a look at their site http://www.thehenryford.org/ Dearborn has so much history that sometimes we take it for granted.
