Summer Solstice 2014 Saturday June 21st
Happy Summer Solstice! June 21st, 2014 is the longest day, the day that we have the most sunlight and isn't it just glorious? Solstice comes from the Latin words "sol" and "sistere" meaning "sun stands still"--a reference to how, when seen from Earth, the sun appears to pause before its position in the sky reverses direction. To me it is the official kick off of summer and we now can technically use the term Summer when referring to the season. Happy Summer friends!
