Hello welcome to La Dolce Vita. I am a busy WAHM of a three year old who really keeps me on my toes. I blog about my Sweet Life (that is what Dolce Vita) means. I share many of my custom hand stamped jewelry pieces, as they are inspired by my every day life. I hope you enjoy fashion as I talk a lot about fashion and I am a total Product Junkie. Step into my world and please come back again soon. If I am not around I am off making some keepsake mommy jewelry for my customers.

Fashion Friday: Ruffles, Ruffles and more Ruffles
Fashion designers have introduced ruffles to us in past seasons but this season they are hotter and larger than ever. I like to be fashionable without being a slave to the current trends because to me you have to be comfortable in what you are wearing and it has to make you feel good. You can make a statement with some oversized ruffles or go the safer more simple route. Whichever you chose they add a feminine look to any outfit. With mens-wear being a big trend this season also a touch of ruffle will soften the look and you will remain looking feminine.
Ruffles can be worn for all occasions whether for work, business casual, running errands or for a cocktail party. You can wear a ruffled blouse under a jacket, you can select a jacket with ruffles, a cardigan sweater with a touch of ruffle, pair a ruffled blouse w/ a vest for a trendy mens-wear look or wear a ruffled halter with an A line skirt for your evening look.
We should never be slaves to the trends and fashion should allow us comfort, style and verstality.
Are you a ruffle gal? If you are which is your favorite?

I like the first grey shirt with the ruffles. I think this trend is great. The ruffles could hide a lot of things until I get around to losing them!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the Hypothosis one and the long-sleeved Inc one. I am not a fan of the 3/4 length sleeve. It looks unfinished to me and leaves me cold so having ruffles on something like that seems unbalanced.
ReplyDeleteRuffles, I really don't know if I like ruffles or not yet. I have a couple of shirts with them and I must say they have to grow on me.
ReplyDeleteYou've been tagged.
Hi Kristen,
ReplyDeleteI've been super busy this past week with a death in the family, (my mother-in-law who I moved her to take care of this past year), a new birth (as you know, I'm a grandma) and my youngest turning 11. (today)
I miss blogging but haven't found the time and have been just too tired. Stopped by to see if anything new was happening with you.

Hey Girl - Just wanted to let you know that you won the Planet Mom T-shirt giveaway on my site!! How cool is that? You'll look styling in your "Trophy Wife" t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really into ruffles. I always think of Jerry's pirate shirt (Seinfeld) when I see ruffles!
ReplyDeleteI like the ruffles!
ReplyDeleteHi, I was looking for a kindness award on google to share with a blogger who really helped me out today, your award with the coffee cups, could I use that or is it an orignal of yours? thank you, Jane
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!
ReplyDeleteI am SOOO not a ruffle girl. If I was being held at gunpoint and had to wear one of those choices, I would choose the hypothesis cardigan
ReplyDeletehmmm.... I stay clear of ruffles... I'm a chubby girl as it is... I fear ruffles would only emphasize that! (I don't really know why though...)
ReplyDeleteI love these features. I just wait for you to post them because I don't have the time to join one more social networking site. Although I really do like BF so who knows you may see me over there more often.
