With less than a week until Halloween we still do not have a costume that Will is willing to wear. He told us for about a month that he wanted to be a Cow and sure enough it came time to get dressed for a local Halloween event and he refused to wear his costume. Below is a pic of a last minute 50's kid costume I threw together. I know it is pathetic and no one thought he was wearing a costume. I will say I think hubby and my brother (Jack Sparrow) deserve an award for Halloween spirit, both of their costumes were a hit.
What about a pirate outfit? It is obvious that he will wear a hat. And maybe an eye patch? You can use black sweatpants. An oversize white shirt and maybe a pretend parrot.
ReplyDeleteLove the Jack Sparrow outfit. Awesome!
How about a black eye'd pea? Paint a black circle around his eye and put him in a brown or green outfit, hehe. Thanks for stopping by my blog...Love yours!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like the pirate idea, He would really be cute as one.
ReplyDeleteWhat about dressing up like daddy...in overalls and hat??
ReplyDeleteYeah, maybe he would like a pirate costume, so he could be like his uncle. Or, a farmer, like his dad!
ReplyDeleteOr you could dress up like a cow, so maybe he would want to!! (If you do, we are all going to want pics of that!)
The pictures are just so adorable LOL :)
ReplyDeleteOk so he can be pirate or does he really like some character that he would be happy wearing the same thing?

I think you did a GREAT job to come up with something he would wear last minute. Maybe revisit the cow idea. He might have changed his mind...again. :)
ReplyDeleteLet him watch Charlie Brown's great pumpkin cartoon (is that tonight?) and he might get really excited to dress up as a ghost. That's the reason my boys wanted to be ghosts this year:)
ReplyDeletewill he do a black cat? Wear all black on him and get a pair of ears and a tail at Walmart or something? Hope you find one that will work for you!
ReplyDeleteFor the 50's - grease back his hair and add dark glasses (you hold them until needed)
ReplyDeleteBlow up some white/pink/blue balloons/ attach to him with yarn or tape and make him look like bubbles
Baseball cap and a mitt with the jacket he has on in the pic
cut hole in bottom of plastic trash can - attach the lid to his hat - hang banana peels, trash on the sides - put holes in top to hang from his shoulders like suspenders or put holes for arms
Sheet for ghost
dark sheet for ghost
farmer like his dad
Your brother looks awesome!
oh he looks so cute, i wish i had some suggestions, we are so boring. going as pooh bear:) good luck!
ReplyDeleteok so today I spent well over 3 hrs trying to run around and find something for Will to wear, he is wearing the pathetic 50's boy costume w/ his hair slicked, I just can't spend another minute on this.
ReplyDeleteI am having the same problem. I actually returned my son's costume. No need in wasting the money if I have to literally chase him to put it on him. I went with a football jersey, sweat pants & black makeup under his eyes.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I don't know of any suggestions - unless you find something that is made out of a sleeper that won't come off and is comfortable!! =S Our little one is going as a monkey (which is part sleeper). It has a hood though, so we are crossing our fingers he will wear the hood up for at least ONE picture!! LOL
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Jack Sparrow costume!! They did a great job on their costumes! =)
This is really nice event
