What I like about summer...

We have had nothing but rain and cold weather lately but I am really looking forward to summer weather, the above picture is from last summer.

I love flip flops, warm balmy evenings, day light until 9:30, back yard campfires, going to the lake, pool time and evening walks with the family. There is more but those are just a few things that I love about summer.

Make a Chalkboard Wreath

Lately I have a mild obsession with chalkboard paint. I love the versatility and fun it offers, my obsession all started with this project here.

For Mother's Day I made a wreath for myself and one for my Mom and MIL. This is a really easy project that can be used through out the seasons and can be changed to greet guests. Today I may change mine to stay Go Away Rain!

What I love about this project is that it brings some immediate gratification. I picked up a wooden letter at Joanne's and painted two coats of chalkboard paint. Then I attached it to a recycled grapevine wreath and then made a few fabric flowers to attach and that is it! So simple and fun.

Product Junkie Approved: Cherry Vanilla Shower Gel by Bath and Body Works

I was so pleased to see that Bath and Body Works has the Cherry Vanilla line back available this season. I am not a huge vanilla fan but love the combo of cherry and vanilla together. I am really picky on my scents but this one I find refreshing and it reminds me of summer. Have you tried it?

Finally Flip Flop Weather...

As you can tell my kiddo was done with pictures, but at least I got a few.

Individual Cherry Cheesecakes

I made these for Mother's Day and they are so easy and so yummy and the best part is that they don't need to be cut, they are ready to serve.

Individual Cherry Cheesecakes Recipe

12 vanilla wafers
2 pkgs. (8 oz. each) cream cheese-softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 T. vanilla
21 oz. can cherry pie filling (or your choice of fruit pie filling)
12 baking cups.

Put paper baking cups into muffin tin. Put one vanilla wafer in bottom of each cup, flat side up. Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add sugar and continue beating. Add eggs and vanilla, beating them until creamy. Spoon the batter over the 12 vanilla wafers. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until spongy but not browned. Once done allow to cool then top with cheery pie filling and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Being a Mom

There was a time when I never thought I would become a Mom,{ it's a long story infertility and multiple miscarriages and I can now talk about it with out crying} but guess what I am a Mom and it is the best gift ever! Do you know what I love best about being a Mom seeing my little guy turn into a fine little man he really is a good boy and I think man that has something to do with me!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Will has two very special teachers and as a special thank you we put some roses in some small jelly jars and then attached a copper stamped key chain stamped with their names and tied on a ribbon and a little card. We just wanted them to know that they are special and we appreciate them.

Heel of Approval gets my approval

It is that time of year, time to get our toesies ready to wear flip flops and sandals. A friend recommended the True Blue Spa products by Bath and Body Works. I really like their Heel of Approval. I have to say this stuff really works. I don't even have to use it every time just a few times a week and my feet feel smooth. The balm has gylcolic acid in it and I am convinced that is what makes it so good. Just slather some up on your feet and put a pair of socks on for a bit and you will see a difference. The price isn't too steep and you can almost always find their stuff on sale or use a coupon.
