Favorite vacation spot...

We didn't go on Spring Break but I really wish we had. I am dreaming that we are at my favorite vacation spot Anna Maria Island, Florida. Of all the places we have visited it is my favorite and we hope to return soon.

What is a favorite vacation spot for you?

  7. My husband and I went to Key West on our honeymoon. My mother-in-law booked our vacation and I have to say it was one of the best vacations I was ever on. We stayed in a beautiful bed and breakfast were the staff (whose name was Koko) was one of the nicest people I have every met. There are so many things to do while you are there. We went shark fishing for a day (we both caught sharks…mine was bigger) and then went on a ghost tour of the town at night (very cool) The island has some very interesting history to it. We took a day trip to Dry Tortuga, an island in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico where a fort was built during the revolutionary war. There we took a tour of the island and went snorkeling. There are also A LOT of bars and places to eat down there. My husband and I never ate at the same place twice the entire week we were there and the food and drinks were fantastic. The strangest thing you will notice down there is the overabundance of cats and roosters. I found out that it is illegal to kill a rooster (not sure why, but it is) and many of the cats have 6 toes (Hemingway’s cats.) Hemingway lived down there for many years and his house is now a museum. Every night around sunset the people of the town gather at Mallory Square. They celebrate each sunset with food, crafts and live entertainment (tightrope walkers, magicians, people that walk on glass, etc.). Key West is a beautiful place that I would recommend to anyone. My husband and I are already planning our next trip back.
