Fahion Friday: Entrenched in Style
With cooler weather just around the corner, it is the perfect time to add a new trench coat to your wardrobe. Woman have been sporting trench coats for decades and they remain a wardrobe essential that is timeless. They never go out of style and seem to get better each season. It is hard to believe that trench coats were originally created in the 1900's for British and French soldiers to wear during the first World War. A piece of clothing that had an original purpose of keeping soldiers dry and warm has now become a essential staple for women and is even seen on some of the hottest fashion runways.
A trench coat can take you from day to night and is very versatile. It can be worn with jeans, with a business suit and even over a cocktail dress. You can select a simple classic black, double breasted, single breasted, belted, cropped, long or a vibrant color. You can stick with a classic trench or a trendy one, just pair it with a pair of well cut jeans, sunglasses and a warm weather scarf and you will have yourself some celebrity style.
Which is your favorite Trench and what is your favorite way to wear a Trench coat?

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI've worn my 'traditional' Trench for ages and still love it.
I like the Ambition Short Trench Coat but I may just be partial to the color. I love the style of the short trench but I wonder if I could pull it off since I'm not that tall. Not to mention, I'm more the t-shirt & jeans/athletic wear kind of person (trying SO hard to break out of that mold!). :-)
ReplyDeleteNice pics Kristen! I just purchased a lovely jacket from Zappos and LOVE it! Living at The Olde Farmhouse, I opted for a barncoat/trench style with a hood. It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I hate wearing coats! They can be so bulky and bothersome. Fortunately, Arkansas winters aren't that cold anymore.
ReplyDeleteI love that they have brought the trench back. I was shopping last weekend and fell in love with so many of them.
ReplyDeleteI need a nice trench, I am going to have to go looking for one soon.
ReplyDeleteI wish I looked good in a trench. I look super fat and/or pregnant in them!
ReplyDeleteI have something for you HERE.
I just realized I gave you the same award as juliana! HAHA ... oops :)
ReplyDeleteI just got a killer blue mini trench at the Old Navy sale this weekend. Love it!
